In addition to providing general education, the degree is designed to develop critical skills in three main areas: engineering, construction science, and management. In particular, the degree would further students' knowledge in construction management, project controls, construction scheduling, construction cost estimating, bidding process, construction contract administration, specification writing, field operations, economics, construction law, business management, written and oral communications.
A student needs to complete 124 credit-hours to earn this degree. An internship experience is also a graduation requirement. The program attracts an equal number of full-time and part-time students, and encourages completing this degree while engaged in construction-related employment. A full-time student should be able to complete this degree in approximately four years.
Course sequence could be viewed in the Study Plan and complete listing of classes could be viewed in the course listing.

Careers
Our Bachelor of Science degree combines the necessary skills from three important fields: Construction Science, Engineering, and Business. These skills are necessary to successfully manage construction projects. In our program, students learn how to build projects, prepare construction estimates, generate project schedules, handle field operations, administer construction contracts, use surveying equipment, perform structural designs (wood, concrete, and steel structures), understand accounting principles, determine economical feasibility, and communicate with others effectively. These skills position our students to succeed employments as:
Project Managers
Construction Managers
Superintendents
Field Engineers
Estimators
Schedulers
Construction Supervisors
Owners Representatives
The department and school invest heavily in cultivating relationships with our industry partners to ensure the availability of internship and part-time work experience for our students throughout their study period. The Internships and Corporative Education Office was established to accomplish the mission of assisting students in finding well-suited employment during their study and upon the completion of their degrees. Our students get internship opportunities with General Contractors, Specialty Contractors, Design-Build Firms, Owners’ Organizations, Public Agencies, Other Related Fields.
