The commercial option of the A.S. degree program features a business-oriented approach to computer information systems. Students take basic computing courses covering programming, systems analysis, data communications, operating systems, databases, and current technology. Coupled with these computing courses are courses in interpersonal communications, business, and general education. Graduates of this program option can apply their educational credits toward the B.S. degree, or they can enter the work force directly. The A.S. commercial option is designed to provide the fundamental requirements for all four tracks of the B.S. in Computer and Information Technology.
