Masters of Science
Plan of Study (Total 33 cr. hr.)
The following summarized the degree requirements:
Interdisciplinary Core Courses (9 credit hours):
- Measurement and Evaluation in Industry and Technology
- Quality and Productivity in Industry and Technology
- Analysis of Research in Industry and Technology
Primary Area of Study (18 credit hours):
- At least 9 credit hours must be departmental graduate level courses
- The remaining credit hours can be graduate courses offered by any of the technology, engineering, science, or mathematics departments in the School
Research Project (6 credit hours):
- The student is responsible for identifying an area of research interest by consultation with the academic advisor
- Students are encouraged to choose a research topic related to their current or past work experience
- The student is responsible for forming an Advisory Committee to oversee his/her research effort
- The Advisory Committee consists of at least three members, two of which must be from the department
- The Advisory Committee is in charge of approving the student’s study plan, endorsing the research proposal, guiding the student during research development, editing the final research report, and conducting a final exam (defense session) at the completion of the research project
