The CIT program at IUPUI has established 10 Program Outcomes, consistent with the ABET CAC Program Outcomes for IT Programs, to ensure its graduates are equipped to accomplish the expected objectives stipulated by ABET upon graduation. The CIT Program Outcomes require each student to show upon graduation the competencies detailed below. Note that the information in parentheses indicates the mapping of each CIT Program Outcome to the CAC-IT Criteria which follow:
CIT-1. Demonstrate mastery of core computing and mathematical concepts. (ABET a)
CIT-2. Analyze user needs and identify the computing requirements appropriate to an IT solution. (ABET b, k)
CIT-3. Plan, design, implement, and evaluate IT-based systems to meet desired needs. (ABET c, l, n)
CIT-4. Function effectively on teams to accomplish a common goal. (ABET d)
CIT-5. Acknowledge diverse opinions in regards to professional, ethical, legal, and social issues in a global perspective. (ABET e, g)
CIT-6. Communicate effectively with a wide range of audiences. (ABET d, f)
CIT-7. Analyze and explain the impact of IT on individuals, organizations and societies. (ABET g)
