Information Technology Fundamentals
Provides students with a working knowledge of the terminology, processes,
and components of information systems and the application development
process. Students will receive hands-on experience with the Internet and
World Wide Web. This course is equivalent to CIT 115, a classroom-based
course. |
| CIT 212 |
Web Site Design
Designed to give students a basic look at World Wide Web pages and site
creation by covering basic components comprising a web site. This
course extends into design considerations for building an effective web
site. This course is equivalent to CIT 223, a classroom-based course. |
| CIT 213 |
Web-based Analysis and Design
Provides students with the concepts, processes, and tools of the systems
analysis and design activity. Concepts will be reinforced through the
use of object-oriented techniques and web-based projects. This course
is equivalent to CIT 254, a classroom-based course. |
| CIT 214 |
Web Data Management
Extensive exploration of data manipulation using a relational database
in a Web environment. This course translates business requirements into
a relational database that will allow basic access and update of data
using a web interface. This course is equivalent to CIT 288, a classroom-based
course. |
| CIT 215 |
Web Programming
Focuses on the design and development of web-based programs. Both client-side
and server-side programming are covered. Languages include Javascript,
VBScript, and ASP.NET using WebMatrix. To reinforce the information
presented, a number of hands-on projects are assigned.

Commercial Web Site Development
Presents students with an opportunity to apply the skills learned int
he previous certificate courses by developing an electronic commerce site
for local businesses. This project-based course provides a number
of local companies with a free web site to support their business.
