Why Computer and Information Technology at IUPUI?

  • CIT (and our sister program CGT) are proud to be the only two Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of ABET-accredited computing programs at IUPUI.
  • CIT graduates receive a Purdue degree and do well in the job market. In 2015, the average salary of our new CIT graduates was $51,902.
  • Our faculty expertise and courses focus on application development, data management, network systems and information security – all growth areas in IT.
  • Students have the choice of four distinct concentrations, but all CIT students are taught a comprehensive set of IT fundamentals.
  • CIT's faculty have strong connections to NSF and industry funding, which enables a variety of student research opportunities.
  • Our faculty work closely with industry to ensure that the CIT curriculum aligns with the structure of IT organizations.
  • CIT is a leader in experiential learning. All students complete an internship or participate in our Living Lab program.
  • We build an international perspective into our curriculum and have yearly study abroad opportunities to India and China.
  • Our urban location gives many opportunities for real life experience; many students work in the field while attending classes.
  • Our small class sizes (~25) allows students to work closely with faculty.
  • Our vision is to produce graduates with a comprehensive perspective of Information Technology and the experience to create IT solutions that meet business needs.
