Welcome to the website for the Engineering Technology Department! The Engineering Technology Department’s mission is to provide the highest-quality educational programs at both the baccalaureate and masters levels in Biomedical Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Management Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology.  The department is addressing industry’s need for interdisciplinary programs with the new online master’s program in Facilities Management.  This program is drawing praise from the business community and is attracting international students with its favorable non-resident graduate tuition rate. The Motorsports Certificate program another interdisciplinary program that is extremely popular with students who come to study in Indianapolis, a city long famous for motorsports.  The technology programs at IUPUI have a long history of offering Purdue degrees and have graduates working at companies all over the world.

The department’s staff is committed to serving students and providing assistance to help them meet their educational goals.  From the first meeting at an initial departmental visit and continuing through graduation, our goal is to make the educational experience rewarding in everyway possible. To better serve our students, both day and evening classes are offered.  

All of the professors in the department have industrial experience in their disciplines and they have developed curriculums in each of the programs that meet the needs of industry. We are proud that our graduates can be productive from their first day on the job.

The department’s faculty members have expertise in a broad range of technical specialties and welcome working with industry on projects. Within the department we have the capability to design and develop systems for both emerging and well-established firms. The department is a full participant in economic development in Indiana. Faculty are involved in a variety of projects, including renewable energy, healthcare engineering, and infrastructure management.
