Music Technology II

MUS- N 320 / 3 Cr.

This course is an overview of the theory and practice of audio/visual digital signal processing and multimedia art.  Classes of software utilized in this course include graphic programming languages, DAW’s, and live musical performance software. This collection of software is meant to provide you with a practical understanding of the fundamental techniques used in digital signal processing (DSP). In addition, this course will offer examples of the use of real-time digital signal processing in academic and popular music, as well as the music technology industry.  Topics include audio software development, integration of audio and video in a single system, real-time audio/visual DSP, incorporating external controllers, and simple interactive systems.
