Introduction to Music Theory
MUS- Z 111 / 3 Cr.
This course is concentrated on fundamental elements in music and prepares students for further development in musicianship. The class includes drills in note recognition, practices with basic rhythms, and preliminary development of aural skills, with special attention to note replication. Students develop a sense of self-discipline required for the further study of music, a sense of relative pitch, a verbal musical literacy, and an ability to listen sensitively & intelligently. No prior music experience required.
