Dr. Yongzhu Fu received a $250,000 grant from the Game Changing Development Program at NASA, entitled “Advanced High-Energy Rechargeable Lithium-Sulfur Batteries”. 

Dr. Yongzhu Fu received a two-year $100,000 grant from NASA to work on high energy density rechargeable lithium batteries.

Drs. Hazim El-Mounayri and Jing Zhang received a $48,893 grant from VIP Tooling for their project, entitled "Optimization of Tooling Design in Extrusion Process". Congratulations!

Drs. Likun Zhu and Whitney Yu received a $197K grant from NSF for their 3-year project, entitled "Self-circulating, self-regulating microreactor for on-chip gas generation from liquid reactants". Congratulations!

Drs. Tamer Wasfy and Jing Zhang received a grant of $69K from Praxaire Surface Technologies, entitled "Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition Process Modeling Phase I." Congratulations!

Dr. Jian Xie received a service grant of $57,123 from a company. Congratulations!

Dr. Razi Nalim received a $200K grant from NASA, entitled "Hybrid Wave-Rotor Electric Aero-Propulsion (HyWREAP)". Wave rotor combustion (WRC) turbine engine and high-density batteries combined enables the proposed transformational HyWREAP technology to achieve large performance gains. Congratulations!

Dr. Razi Nalim's paper at the 2012 ASME Gas Turbine Congress was selected for the "Peter E. Manceri Memorial Best Paper of the Maine Committee", ASME International Gas Turbine Institute, 2012. Congratulations!

Dr. Likun Zhu received a $100K grant from American Chemical Society Petroleum Research Fund (ACS-PRF) for his 2-year project, entitled "Identification of Lithium Ion Battery Electrode Structural Inhomogeneity and Its Effect on Battery Performance." Congratulations!

Dr. Jian Xie and his colleagues in INDI received a $495,744 grant from NSF for the purcase of a Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy. Congratulations!

Dr. Razi Nalim received $328K from NSF for his 3 year project, entitled "GOALI: Transient Jets and Re-Ignition for Energy Efficiency Gains from Confined Combustion." Rolls-Royce is the industrial partner. Congratulations!

Dr. Andrés Tovar recieved a $10,000 grant from the Indiana Space Grant Consortium for supporting his proposal entitiled "Design of space exploration vehicle structures and mechanisms for operation in uncertain environments". Congratulations!

Dr. Andrés Tovar received a $60,000 grant from Honda R&D Americas, Inc., for his proposal "Topology Crash Optimization of Progressively Buckling Thin-walled Structures Using Tubular Compliant Mechanisms". Congratulations!

Dr. Jing Zhang received a $10,000 grant from the Indiana Space Grant Consortium for supporting his proposal entitled "Research Program on Energy for Aerospace". Congratulations!

Dr. Jing Zhang was awarded $294K from DoE for his proposal "Novel Functional-gradient Thermal Barrier Coatings in Coal-fired Power Plant Turbines", which was announced by DoE on 6/6/2012. Congratulations!
