Admission Information

To be directly admitted to the Freshman Engineering program at IUPUI, students should be a graduate of an accredited high school* and meet the following requirements:

1. Rank in the upper half of their high school graduating class.
2. Have minimum SAT scores of 520 math and 480 verbal OR minimum ACT scores of 22 math and 20 English.
3. Complete Indiana Core 40, or equivalent including

+Language Arts - 8 Credits

+Mathematics - 6 to 8 Credits
from:
Credits in Trigonometry and/or Pre-Calculus (required), Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II.

+Science - 6 Credits
from:
2 credits: Biology, 2 credits: Chemistry (required), Physics, or Integrated Chemistry - Physics, 2 credits: Another science, preferably physics.

+Social Studies - 6 Credits
from:
2 credits: U.S. History,1 credit: U.S. Government,
1 credit: World History and Civilization and/or World Geography,
1 credit: Economics,
1 credit: Additional course from the social studies area.

+Directed Electives - 8 Credits
from the preceding or following subject areas:

Foreign Language: Chinese, French, German, Italian or Japanese, Latin, Russian, Spanish, etc.
Fine Arts
:
Art, Theater, Music
Computers
:
Computer Applications or Computer Programming
Tech Career Area: At least 6 credits in a logical sequence from
a technical career cluster.

Health, Physical Education and Safety - 2 Credits
Basic Physical Education 1 credit (two semesters)
Health and Safety 1 credit (one semester)

Electives - 2 to 4 more credits
from any course offered for high school Credit
