Application information:

Beginning Students -- Apply Now
Application information for transfer students should be directed to nlamm@iupui.edu.

Orientation:
All students new to IUPUI attend a one-day orientation program. Times and days vary to accommodate almost any schedule. Contact the Orientation Office at 274-4240 to schedule an orientation time. During the Orientation Day the students receive general information about IUPUI and specific information about their particular school, are assigned their e-mail accounts and student IDs, meet with an advisor to select classes, and then register for classes by computer.

Placement tests:
Placement tests are required of beginning students and all other students who do not have college credit in Math and English. Placement tests can be scheduled by contacting the Orientation Office at 274-4240 and should be completed prior to the orientation date. Students interested in advanced placement in a foreign language can schedule the foreign language placement test by contacting the Orientation Program Office.

Engineering students who have not passed a college level chemistry course must take the Chemistry Placement Test in order to register for CHEM C111. This test is administered by the Chemistry Department. Contact the Chemistry Department directly at 274-6872. The Chemistry Department is located in Room 326 of the LD Building.

The Mathematics Department, LD Building Room 270, conducts a test-out exam on the first Saturday of the semester and they can be contacted at 274-6918. The following courses have test-out exams: MATH 111, MATH M118, MATH M119, MATH 151, MATH 153, MATH 154, MATH 163, MATH 164, MATH 221 and MATH 222. If you have earned Advanced Placement (AP) credit from high school you may not have to take a test-out or placement test. Contact your advisor about your math placement.
