The Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE)

Since its founding in 1972, FIPSE's dual mission has been to promote both the quality and the accessibility of education beyond the high school level. The central challenge facing postsecondary educators and institutions is to redefine and revitalize the college experience for an increasingly diverse student population. In meeting this chalenge, educational reformers must act with new urgency to anticipate the workforce requirements of a rapidly changing economy.

FIPSE encourages postsecondary institutions to create programs that better prepare students for entering the workforce and promote the practice of lifelong learning, and that better serve continuing education and retaining needs of workers. FIPSE seeks to support innovative reforms of undergraduate, graduate, and professional curricula that improve not only what students learn, but how they learn.
