Mission & Overview:

Mission:

The Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Laboratory (AEML) was established in 1998 to facilitate teaching and research in the areas of CAD (Computer Aided Design), CAE (Computer Aided Engineering), CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing), IPS (Interactive Product Simulation), and PDM (Product Data Management).

It creates a base to train high-tech and advanced manufacturing workforces to meet the needs of the rapid changing technology and provide service to industry for promoting the new technology.

Overview:

The lab is equipped with Integrated CAD/CAE/CAM/PDM facilities (software and hardware) which are used as the base to conduct fundamental research, promote applied research activities, attract industrial projects, and teach the next generation engineering and technology students.

The lab is involved in fundamental as well as applied research in the areas of advanced manufacturing, intelligent machining, virtual manufacturing engineering design, analysis, simulation and Product Data Management.

The lab is also involved in the customization extension / development of engineering software tools for better serving the needs of our cutsomers (industry, engineers and colleges). An example of such activities is the development of the AVML (Advanced Virtual Manufacturing Lab) for training, education and research.

The system is a systhensis and extension of a variety of state-of-the-art commercial software tools, ACIS®, IVRESS™, LEA™, as well as in - house tools.
