The Department of Biomedical Engineering, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) invite applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor position (non-tenure track) beginning the fall 2015 semester. The initial appointment will be for two academic years with future longer term appointments to be expected. Qualifications include an earned doctorate in Biomedical Engineering and a career interest in undergraduate teaching with at least one year of teaching experience expected. The areas of teaching expertise would include Biomechanics and Biomaterials with opportunities to teach at the undergraduate level (200- 400 level courses). Specific duties will include: teaching two to three courses per semester including courses with a laboratory component as determined by the department chair; being a member of the Undergraduate Curriculum Committee with commensurate undergraduate advising responsibilities as assigned by the Director of the Undergraduate Program, along with participating in the two thematic areas of Biomechanics and Biomaterials for curriculum development.

Development of the Undergraduate Research Program with responsibilities which will include: becoming the primary contact for all undergraduates with a research interest and working with faculty (BME and others across the campus who wish to support these opportunities) to place the students in appropriate laboratories; following the progress of the students with their faculty mentors; integrate these opportunities with the various Honors Programs on campus and within the School and Department; become the BME Department's representative to school and campus undergraduate research activities, and summarize and maintain the progress of these  undergraduate research projects on the department's web site.

The incumbent will be encouraged to develop an academic teaching portfolio which would include publications in recognized teaching journals and developing funding support for activities related to the above duties. Apply for this position at https://www.et.iupui.edu/apply/index.asp?pos=00032148
