| Syllabus |
|
| Outcomes: | After completion of this course, the students should be able to:
1. Explain the concept of composite materials. 2. Differentiate metallic versus composite materials. 3. Compare the mechanical properties of composite materials to the metallic materials. 4. Predict the composite properties at micro-level. 5. Explain different manufacturing techniques for composites. 6. Analyze fiber-reinforced composites for stresses and deformations. 7. Design composite members for stiffness and strength. 8. Predict failure in composite members. 9. Work in a group or individual setting and write a report. 10. Explain the advantages of composites over metals. |
