MATERIALS DESIGN COMPETITION FROM THE AATCC

APPLICATION DEADLINE: 3/1/2007

REQUIREMENTS: NANOTECHNOLOGIES, STRUCTURES/MATERIALS, HAZARDOUS OR MEDICAL PROTECTION, ELECTRONICS
 
PURPOSE: The promotion of innovative product development from a materials design perspective. The theme is "Design of Material Structures" divided into three areas:
Industrial/Technical - Structures/materials for technical/engineering
Smart/Electronic - Structures that incorporate computing, sensing, monitoring, imaging and/or broadcastig electronics directly into the material
Protective/Medical/Biomedical- Structures external to the body intended for use in hazardous or medical environments to protect the wearer
 
ELIGIBILITY: Undergraduate or Graduate students
Senior design course projects are also eligible as bases for the entries.
Individual or teams of up to four with faculty advisor.
May participate in only one competition
Required to submit an "electronic/digital poster board along with full text
 
TERMS OF AWARDS: Winning entries will be awarded $1,000 for 1st place and $500 for 2nd place in each area June 1, 2007. Student(s) registration for 10/2-4/07 AATCC IC&E in Charleston, SC
 
PLEASE SUBMIT: Preliminary design proposals must be received by e-mail by 4 pm on 3/1/07
