Faculty Awards of 2002/2003 Academic Year
The Department of Mechanical Engineering is happy to report the following Awards recently received by its faculty:Dr. Hasan U. Akay has been selected as one of the 2003 Chancellor's Professors at IUPUI. This award is given to a professor who has compiled a career-long record of high-level achievement in all three areas of faculty works (teaching, research/creative works, and service) at IUPUI.
Dr. Ramana Pidaparti was elected a Fellow of ASME , which is the highest membership grade at ASME. This award is given to members with high achievement in academia, research, and engineering design and development.
Dr. Ramana Pidaparti was the recipient of the School of Engineering and Technology 2003 Frank E. Burley Distinguished Professor Award . This award is given to a faculty member in the school who has demonstrated outstanding service.
Dr. Andrew Hsu was among the six recipients of The 2003 IU Trustees Teaching Award in the School of Engineering and Technology. This award is given to faculty members who demonstrate excellence in teaching and student mentorship.
Dr. Andrew Hsu was the recipient of the School of Engineering and Technology's 2003 Abraham M. Max Distinguished Professor Award . This award is given to a faculty member for his or her outstanding research accomplishments, including conducting funded research projects, publishing in professional journals and conferences, and mentoring students for research.
