The Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI has created a Hall of Fame in an effort to highlight outstanding alumni, industry partners. The Hall of Fame features current and previous recipients of the Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award and will be on permanent display in the E&T building.
The Distinguished Alumnus/Alumna Award was established at the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology, IUPUI in 1983. This award is presented by the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Alumni Association to a graduate in recognition of outstanding achievement in the field of engineering or technology, in the practice of his or her profession, or in service to the community.
Dean Russomanno and Assistant Dean John Mainella unveiled the Hall of Fame at the 2012 Honors Convocation on April 20, 2012 at Historic Union Station, Downtown Indianapolis. Several previous recipients of the Award attended the Convocation and were presented with plaques that will be featured in the Hall of Fame. The School was pleased to welcome Vincent Newsom, Clayton Nicholas, John Oglesby, Terry Bush, Sara Jane Haehl, Richard Barnett, Cleveland Lewis, Charles Barker, Richard Schilling, John Hays, Ray Fiechter and Wayne Schmidt, who were honored as former recipients.
The 2012 Winner of the Distinguished Alumni/Alumna Award is Frank St. John, a graduate of the School and dedicated supporter as a member of the Dean’s Industrial Advisory Council. Along with previous winners of the Award, his plaque will be displayed outside of the Dean’s Office on the second floor of the E&T building following this summer’s construction.
