The B.S. degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision requires a total of 124 credit hours. Of the 43 credit hours required in OLS, 28 must result from taking OLS 10000, 25200, 26300, 27400, 32700, 33100, 37100, 37800, 39000, 41000 and 49000. The balance of the requirements for graduation are as follows:
- 15 additional credit hours of OLS coursework beyond the required courses.
- Personalized competencies in leadership and supervision to match career interests.
- ENG W131 or equivalent.
- OLS 25200, W131, COMM R110, and junior standing or the consent of the OLS department are prerequisites for OLS 327.
- OLS 10000, 25200, 26300, 27400, 32700, 37800, W131, TCM 22000, and COMM R110 are pre-requisites for OLS 39000.
- OLS 27400 is the prerequisite for IET 35000.
- Senior standing, Math and Communications requirements completed, and 33 hours of OLS coursework and OLS 39000 are prerequisites for OLS 41000 and 49000.
- Choose up to 24 credit hours in applied technology competency that complement OLS and directly relate to specific career interests. 18 credit hours must be in a single department such as CNT, CIT, EET, MET, Business School, Nursing, Allied Health, Informatics, SPEA, etc. and at least 3 credits must demonstrate computer competency. These courses must be related to a second degree, a minor, a certificate, or reflect some logical combination of courses. Students will be directed to the appropriate counselor for a second degree, certificate, or minor and the faculty in that department will counsel the student for those required courses. Note: Students must have the set of courses they plan to apply to the related technology area preapproved by an OLS academic counselor.
- 21 credit hours in communications ENG W131, COMM R110, TCM 22000, and TCM 32000.
- 3 credit hours in an approved science elective.
- 6 credit hours in mathematical applications, which must include IET 35000 and an introductory course in statistics. The introductory course in statistics must be selected after consultation with an OLS advisor. Statistics requirement may be met by taking IET 15000, Econ-E 270, CIT 12000, or STAT 301.
- 6 Credit hours in mathematical skills including MATH 153 & 154 or MATH 118 &119 or equivalent. If Math 151 or an equivalent or higher-level 5-hour course is substituted then one additional credit hour approved by an OLS advisor must be earned.
- Complete 24 crdit hours in communication including COMM-R 110, ENG-W 131, TCM 22000, TCM 32000, and OLS 47400. The 9 credit hour balance must be composed of department approved communication and/or writing coursework
- Complete 18 credit hours of general education electives. 3 credit hours must come from humanities and 3 credit hours must come from behavioral or social sciences to "round out" the BS degree and expose students to differant disciplines and perspectives. Prior approval by an OLS advisor is strongly recommended.
