EducationWorkshops: TASI held its first workshop August 10, 2006, at IUPUI. The six invited automotive suppliers met with faculty members from IUPUI, and partner universities. Discussion centered on industry research priorities, and how best to address them. TASI's September 20th workshop addressed consortium organization and structure. Subject to availability of funding for administrative support and expenses, bimonthly or quarterly workshops will be organized to brief industrial and academic partners on progress and addressing topics of interest. Conferences:Standards and test methodology, statistical analysis of crash data, and human factors research are potential topics for one to two TASI-sponsored conferences per year. TASI will also sponsor exhibits at national and international automotive and transportation conferences. Publication:Currently, no journal dedicated to transportation active safety systems exists, so TASI will study the feasibility of establishing one. TASI researchers are active in publishing papers in high quality journals and conference proceedings. TASI's website, currently under construction, will provide a forum for disseminating technical information to researchers, engineers, and the driving public. |
