Interior Design Technology Undergraduate Degree Program

What is Interior Design Technology?

Interior Design aims to improve the function and quality of interior spaces. Interior designers collaborate with other licensed professionals in the architectural, mechanical, electrical, and construction trades. The design process, aesthetics, space utilization and planning building codes, laws, regulations and standards of interior products are major aspects of professional training.

Careers in Interior Design

Graduates of the two-year Associate of Science degree work as: interior design assistants in interior design and architectural firms, self-employed designers, sales and/or design associates in retail or manufacturing settings, manufacturers' representatives for produces used in the design and construction industry, computer aided design (CAD) technicians for design industry related firms, and showroom managers.

Graduates of the Bachelor of Science program work as: interior designers in interior design and architectural firms, self-employed designers, space planners, facility managers, sales and/or design associates in retail or manufacturing settings, showroom designers, product designers, way-finding specialists, manufacturer's representatives for products used in the design and construction area, equipment and/or furnishing specifiers, CAD technicians for design related firms, kitchen and bath designers, and showroom managers.
