Input Capture Events
An event is defined to occur on a rising or a falling edge of the input signal to the corresponding pin.
We must specify whether the event occurs on the
- Rising edge,
- Falling edge, or
- Any edge.
This is done using registers TCTL3 and TCTL4 at locations 0x008A and 0x008B, respectively.
Since we have three possible choices, we need two bits to specify when the event occurs.
For each channel, the event of interest is defined by specifying whether it occurs when a rising edge, a falling edge, or any edge is observed on the corresponding pin. The Timer Control Registers TCTL3 and TCTL4 are used to select the edge that should constitute an event.
