A/D conversion techniques
Four basic A/D conversion techniques are
- successive approximation,
- integration based,
- counter type, and
- parallel converters.
Regardless of the technique, some sort of sample and hold circuitry is required to keep the analog input voltage constant while converting.
Some of the most common A/D conversion techniques use succesive approximation, integration, counters, and parallel converters. These techniques are discussed in section 9.4 of the textbook.
