Method

 

1.      Take moong dhal in a vessel and add 1 cup of water to it.

 

2.      Cut garlic into halves.

 

3.      Add 1/2 teaspoon of cummin seeds,salt and garlic to moong dhal and pressure cook all the ingredients together for 4 whistles or 5 minutes.

 

4.      Remove from the cooker and smash the dhal with a spatula.

 

5.      Heat 2 teaspoons of oil in a small tawa and add cummin seeds,urad dhal and curry leaves.

 

6.      When they splutter add asafoetida and pour this hot mixture into the dhal.Stir well.

 

7.      Transfer to a serving dish.

 

 

Tips

 

·         This dish should be served with ghee and rice.

·         It is very good for kids.
